The poor milkmaid accepted out of desperation. But on her wedding night, something terrible happened that horrified her. 😱😲
The poor girl was barely twenty years old. Her hands smelled of milk and hay, and her boots were still caked with mud. She lived in an old wooden house with her ailing mother. Her father was in prison for debts he couldn't pay.
Several rumors circulated in the village, but the truth was that there was no one to support the family, there was no money, and sometimes they really had nothing to eat.
The mother grew weaker with each passing month. Medicine was expensive. The girl rose before dawn and worked on the farm until nightfall, but she barely earned enough to buy bread. Sometimes she would sit by the window and simply stare at the road, unsure of what to do next
.And it was at that moment that a rich man appeared in their lives. He was about forty years old. He wore an expensive suit, drove an expensive car, and had the penetrating gaze of a man accustomed to being accepted.
He arrived home and said calmly, almost indifferently:
“I’ll help your father get out early. I’ll pay off his debts. Your family will never want for anything. Just marry me and give me a child. I’ll be dead in a year anyway.”
He spoke as if he were talking about buying a piece of land.
The girl remained silent. She looked at his face, at his self-assurance, and suddenly felt sorry for him. Forty years old. Rich. And still alone. He repeated that the doctors had given him a year at most.
The girl agreed. Not for the money, she told herself. Anyway, he would die in a year. And her father would get out of jail, and her mother would receive treatment. What did she have to lose?
The wedding was quick and discreet.
But on her wedding night, something happened to the girl that left her completely horrified, and the next morning she fled the house. 😨😲
When her husband fell asleep, the girl couldn't get any rest. The house seemed strange and cold. She got up to walk down the hallway and, by chance, saw a light on in the study. The door was slightly ajar.
There were papers on the desk.
She hadn't intended to read someone else's documents. But her gaze lingered on familiar words. Date. Signature. Clinic stamp.
She approached slowly.
She approached slowly.
It was a medical report. From several months ago. In black and white: satisfactory health. Favorable prognosis. Not a word about a terminal illness.
Nearby lay another document: a contract with a lawyer. In the event of the birth of a child, all assets would pass to the heir. If there were no children, the marriage would be annulled within a year, leaving her with nothing.
As it turned out later, a wealthy relative of his had died and left him all her possessions, but with one condition: he had to become a father within a year.
They used her and lied to her, exploited her pity, and then threw her out onto the street as if she were an unwanted object
